Timothy Poirier, O.D.
Dr. Tim Poirier was born in California and raised in Birmingham, Al. He graduated from Auburn University in 1988 with a degree in Biological Science. Dr. Poirier earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1992. Dr. Poirier has extensive experience in treatment and management of ocular disease, contact lenses, and corneal reshaping therapy. He lives in Knightdale with his wife Kristin and their four children Blair, Brooks, Brett, and Ben. He currently serves on the Knightdale Town Council and is a past president of the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys coaching his children's soccer, baseball, and basketball teams and playing golf.
Jon Lutz, O.D.
Dr. Jon Lutz was born and raised in Hickory, NC. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2004 with a degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. Lutz earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in school he received specialized training at Vision America where he gained experience in cataract pre and post operative care and refractive surgery. Dr. Lutz is certified by the North Carolina State Board of Optometry and has experience in treating and managing hard and soft contact lenses, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eyes, refractive surgeries, and pre and post operative care. He enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife and dogs, and following NC State football and basketball. He lives in Wendell with his wife Janelle.

Rob-Optician
Rob Correa started in the optical industry in 1988 as a lab technician for Pearle Vision Centers in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After two years he went to work for New City Optical, a wholesale lab in Virginia Beach, where he worked as a lab supervisor for 12 years. While there he attended and graduated from the Opticians Apprenticeship Program at Norfolk Vocational/Technical School where he received his ABO Certification and his Optician License from the state of Virginia. Three years after graduating he became an instructor at the Opticians Apprenticeship Program. In 2002 he relocated to the Raleigh area and became the General Manager at Southern Optical Co. in Morrisville. In July 2007 Rob joined the Knightdale Eye Care staff. Rob lives in Knightdale with his wife Lori, who is also an Optician, and his daughter Lauren. He is also very involved in his church and serves in Reformers Unanimous, a faith based addictions program that helps people realize there need for freedom from their stronghold.

Beverly-Optician
Beverly A. Byers has over 30 years of hands on experience in the optical industry. She started in a private practice by doing lab work and assisting patients in selecting their eyewear. Beverly entered into a family partnership and purchased a local optical business which she ran for the next several years. She then moved on to work for one of the top optometric practices in the Antelope Valley, Antelop Valley Optometric Center, in Southern California. There she started as a dispenser and through the years helped the business grow and became the office manager for their two locations, supervising a staff of 15. Beverly holds an optician’s liscense in the State of California where she formally resided. In 2000 she moved with her family to North Carolina. She worked for Dr. Clyde Croom in Raleigh for seven years before joining Knightdale Eye Care in 2007. She has her Opticians License in the State of California and is a Member of the American Board of Opticianry In Beverly's spare time ,she enjoys decorating her home and spending time gardening.

Katina-Insurance Specialist
Katina Merles was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina along with her two sisters and three brothers. After graduating from Wando High School in 1992 she attended Benedict College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1996. Shortly after graduation she enlisted in the US Army where she served for 7 years before receiving an honorable discharge. Katina is the mother of two children, Diamond 9 years old and Michael 4 years old. Katina has three years of experience working in the health field and currently serves as the insurance specialist at Knightdale Eye Care.

Leslye - Receptionist
Leslye was born and raised in eastern Wake County. She graduated from East Wake High School in 1992 and attended NC Central University. Leslye has worked in the medical field for 11 years and in the eye care capacity since 2004. She currently lives in Knightdale with her husband Monty and their two children, Montoria and Lexton. In her spare time Leslye enjoys working in the yard, traveling, and staying involved with her church and community.

Ashley - Contact Lens Technician
Ashley started in the optical industry in 2003. She graduated from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a degree in Agricultural Management. After graduating she decided to pursue her North Carolina optician's license and is currently in the NC State Board Optician's Internship Program. She will complete the state's board exam in 2011. Ashley has a passion for dance and teaches at night in Youngsville part-time. When she's not working or teaching dance Ashley and her fiancee Trey enjoy spending time on their boat at Kerr Lake with their dog Vito.

Laura - Insurance Coordinator
Laura was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She has worked with optometry practices as an insurance coordinator since 2000. Her vision related experience began in the corporate office of a practice with 14 office locations. Prior to that she spent several years working for a medical softward company as an accounting specialist. She currently lives in Raleigh with her husband Steve and their "children", a dog and 2 cats. In the summer they enjoy boating and in the winter love hockey (Go Canes!!). Laura has been involved with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life since 1998.

Denise - Front Desk
Denise Caprio has been working in the optical business since 1980. She became a licensed optician in 1986 in New Jersey, and in 1995 became licensed in North Carolina. Denise enjoys spending her free time with her two girls Sofia 8 and Giana 6. She currently works at Knightdale Eye Care as an optician along with helping front desk duties and insurance.
